Designing fuzzy expert system for supplier selection problem within the supply chain network
Authors:
Masood Mosadegh Khah; Abbas Bidokhti; Mostafa Zareei
Abstract:
One of the most important issues within supply chain management, especially for those institutes that receive many items from external suppliers, is the selecting of the most suitable supplier. Apart from some quantitative criteria such as costs, this issue is influenced by various factors which are mainly qualitative and expressed using linguistic variables. Suppliers are often chosen through multi-criteria decision-making methods or mathematical programming; however in some real cases, this task needs experience and expertise whose effects are not that much taken into account in decision-making models. Hence, in this paper, first the criteria for selecting the supplier are extracted from the literature of the subject and the hierarchical model of the issue is presented. Afterwards, having regarded the criteria hierarchy for decision-making, a fuzzy expert system is designed that determines the status of the higher-level criterion at the each level of criterion through combining various statuses using the rules, and finally the best supplier is selected.

Time-Varying Exposure Effect Estimate in The Presence of Time-Varying Unmeasured Confounders
Authors:
Neda Jalali and Manoochehr Babanezhad
Abstract:
Estimation the causal effect of an exposure would be invalid in presence of confounding variable effects if these variables effects do not adjust in the model. However, instrumental variable estimation method is frequently employed to collect information on potentially confounders, in particular where one confronts with the time-varying exposures. However, in longitudinal studies, the effect of confounders does exist from the first time so it is critical to adjust this effect from this time. In this paper, we introduce time-varying instrumental variable to control the effect of unmeasured confounders in all times. We do it by regressing instrumental variable at time t on its previous time.

Authors:
Navid Ghaffarzadeh; Hassan Sadeghi
Abstract:
Capacitor optimal allocation in power system will correct bus voltage profile, decrease energy and power loss and increase effective capacity of system. In this article a Biogeography-Based Optimization (BBO) algorithm is proposed for optimal placement and sizing of fixed capacitor banks in distribution networks, objective function is defined based on the cost of power losses, energy losses and capacitor banks. At the same time, constraints include voltage limits, number/size of installed capacitors (at each bus) and the power quality limits. In this study, new fitness function is used to solve the constrained optimization problem with discrete variables. Simulation results for 34-bus test system are presented and solutions of the proposed method are compared with those of previous methods described in the literature. The obtained results show high speed and computational power capability and earning considerable annual benefits.

Reza Yousefi M.; Jafar Razmi; Ramin Giahi; Reza Babazadeh
Abstract:
Supply chain’s equilibrium behavior is one of the substantial issues in supply chain management. This paper proposes an auction-based N-tier bilateral supply chain model. The model includes bilateral markets among pairs of consecutive tiers in supply chain network. In each market, sellers submit bids to buyers. Buyer chooses the best bid. The possibility of participating in other markets such as spot market is considered for buyers. In the model there isn’t any constraint on number of tiers and also number of firms in each tier. A stage exact algorithm is used to determine the Nash Equilibrium (NE) prices and transactions in supply chain network. In order to illustrate the modeling framework and the algorithm, a numerical example is used and solutions are provided. Also it is shown that bidding prices calculated by the proposed algorithm, result transactions which induce efficient allocation of resources.

Abstract:
Image segmentation has been one of the core problems in computer vision. In this paper, the proposed approach is based on that first enhance multispectral image and then applying clustering technique, using L*a*b* color space and the vectors are used as inputs for the k-means clustering method, the segmentation problem is formulated as a labeling problem under a probability framework. To estimate the label configuration, an iterative optimization scheme is proposed to alternately carry out the Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) estimation. The MMSE estimation is achieved by finding the means of region features. A graph-cut algorithm is used to find the solution to the MMSE estimation. Our algorithm can automatically segment an image into regions or colors without the need to know the number of regions in advance. Experimental results show an excellent segmentation performance in many cases.

Authors:
Safar Fazli; Mehrdad Asadian; Ali Ghasemi
Abstract:
One of the multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques is compromise programming (CP).To some extent it is a natural and a logical complement to multiobjective programming (MOP). Compromise programming does that in a very realistic way, without having to rely on the questionable assumptions of the traditional utility theory. The basic idea in CP is to identify “an ideal solution“and “measure of closeness” to the ideal solution. The aim of this paper is to extend the compromise programming for decision making problems with interval numbers and for doing comparisons between intervals we calculate high and low desired intervalsand then compare them with each other. Finally, an empirical example illustrates and clarifies the main results developed in this paper.

Authors:
Hamid Pour Mohammad; Hatef Ardekani
Abstract:
The relations in classical equation of bending plates include the relatively small deflections. But it is not true in most practical subject(w>t). Because of the deflections lager than the plate’s thickness, the plates middle plane involves a tension and causes a tension stress in the middle plane. This phenomenon hardens the plate stiffness. The algorithm and the analysis of the plate bending with the elastic-plastic behavior by considering the effects of the large deflection is the main goal of this article which is investigated by the finite element method. Besides there is a comparison between the classical theory of bending plates and an analysis of finite element method considering large deflection.

Approximate Sentence Matching: A Proposed Matching Model based on Weighted Feature Extraction
Authors:
Meysam Roostaee, M. H. Sadreddini, S. M. Fakhrahmad
Abstract:
Approximate sentence matching is a crucial issue for machine translation tasks such as example-based machine translation (EBMT) which is highly effective on the quality of translation output. Given a sentence, an effective matching method should be able to determine which sentence in example set is closest to the input sentence. In this paper, an approximate matching method based on weighted feature extraction is proposed. First, different sets of features including string-based, semantic-based and syntactic-based features are extracted from a prepared corpus and the feature-based dataset is created. Then, by applying linear regression algorithm on this dataset, a weight for each feature is calculated. These weights indicate the effectiveness of features in approximate matching. Next, by considering the weights, approximate matching is performed. The evaluation results based on precision and recall are promising and indicate that the proposed method can be used to improve the quality of translation output.
