Optimization of a Generalized Traveling Salesmen Problem with Uncertainties
Authors:
Ameneh Shahsavari and Nasser Shahsavari Pour
Abstract:
One of most applicable problems in graph optimization is traveling salesman problem (TSP) in which the objective is usually to find a Hamiltonian cycle with minimum path length in the graph. In real world applications, this problem emerges with more generalized conditions comparing to the classical type of the problem. For example, instead of only one salesman there may be several salesmen traversing the graph, or some of the problem parameters may be uncertain and probabilistic. In this paper mathematical modeling of the problem for several salesmen and uncertain parameters is addressed. Further details such as demand queues in nodes and nodes priorities are considered to enrich the model. Genetic algorithm also utilized in an appropriate way to optimize the proposed model. Different conditions are considered and compared.

Authors:
Navidfar M.H.; Gharehbaghi M
Abstract:
The aim of this investigation is to obtain an optimum convex shape for the dome of composite pressure vessels. The angle of ply orientations is taken as combinations of 0, +45, -45, and 90 degrees, with failure criterion of Tsi-Wu for each layer under the maximum design pressure. The optimization method used is the non-gradient approach of the Complex method, and the generator curve of the dome is defined in terms of the radii to equidistant points along the axis of symmetry treated as the design variables. The design points along the generator are turned into a smooth curve by connecting them with cubic splines. The procedure shows remarkable success as exhibited by several examples worked out.

Vehicle Interior Acoustic Optimization by Using Passive Layers
Authors:
Gharehbaghi M.a, Iray Makvandi R
Abstract:
There is a daily demand increase for ride comfort in car manufacturing industries. The development of lighter and more fuel-efficient automobiles, make vehicles susceptible to low frequency vibration and noise, so uncomfortably is now a new concern in modern products. A pre-production NVH analysis is the key for achieving a proper ride comfort. In this paper, first the effect of structural vibration on the internal noise level of vehicle namely structure-borne noise is investigated. The range of investigated frequency is between 0-250Hz. Acoustical FE simulation is performed on a three internal space cavity of a truck. The analysis was carried out in frequency response analysis and resultant internal noise level is determined. The results of the above analysis are used for optimizing driver's right ear noise level through location and thickness of damping layers. This method is categorized as a passive noise reduction method and is the most economical way for reducing the noise level for the mid range vehicles. To achieve this goal, number of simulations is designed using Taguchi’s method in design of experiments (T-DOE). Then develop a general interpolation function on the sample points using artificial neural network (ANN) method. And finally determine the optimum state by means of a genetic algorithm (GA). Using this method the optimization of parameters (SPL and Weight of Passive Layers) was attained effectively. The results indicate that by proper use of these layers, one can make a reduction of 10-15dB in sound pressure level.

Iray Makvandi R; Navidfar M.H.; Gharehbaghi M.; Hedayati M.M
Abstract:
One of the phenomenon’s having effect on various levels of voltages of power systems is transient over voltages, specifically over voltages caused by lightning strike the line. This type of overvoltage should be properly controlled, so that equipment receive the minimum damage. Currently in 20 kV distribution networks, surge arrester is one of the protection factors against lightning strike feeder. Recently the idea of using composite cross-arms in the distribution networks has increased, due to the many advantages that they own. Since using composite in the cross-arm construction increases the insulating standing of the poles, this affair will bring about changes in the operation of the lightning arresters and insulators. This paper has studied this subject matter. The simulations have been carried out by EMTP software. The results show that in terms of electrical, using composite in cross-arm construction increases the damage to the system in the lightning event.

Abstract:
Nowadays, logistics activities have a large contribution in pricing products and services. Therefore, any improvement to these activities can produce competitive advantages to the companies. Regarding to the importance of designing for logistics and supply chain networks, especially designing integrated networks avoiding sub-optimality caused by a separate design of forward/reverse logistics, this paper addresses the design of a multi-product, multi-stage, single-period and single-purpose integrated logistics network. A forward logistic network includes supply, production, distribution and customer centers. A reverse logistic network includes collection/recovery, recycle and disposal centers. Because of the high complexity of the issue, a simulated annealing (SA) algorithm is applied in order to obtain the solution.

Abstract:
Oil price plays a significant role as one of the effective factors in the international economy due to its importance in the international markets, fundamental relation with economy of countries, and its strategic position among economic products. Oil price forecast is usually difficult; since various and several factors affect the market and world prices of oil. The price of crude oil in the past was determined by the organization of the petroleum exporting countries (OPEC). But accompanied by increasing extraction fields of petroleum, forming oil exchanges and its future markets in the 1990, the role of OPEC in pricing crude oil directly has been declined. Today, the most important factor in determining oil price, like many of other commodities, is the supply and demand.
